Overlay welding is used to protect components against wear and corrosion.
Component wear can be counteracted by applying an alloy layer in the form of an "open arc" cored wire. Cored wires with different degrees of hardness and alloys are used for this purpose.
For over two decades, we have been designing and building complete build-up welding systems for cladding sheet metal, which are used in the cement and bulk materials industries, for example. In the past, build-up welding with gas-shielded cored wires has become established. Customer-specific degrees of hardness can be achieved by using a wide variety of alloys. Depending on the application, we work with 2-8 welding heads which are adapted to a welding portal that moves over a welding table. With the Miller Dimension 650 multi-process inverter power source, which achieves 650 amps at 100 % duty cycles and weighs just 73 kg, we have created the perfect complete solution for this application. The system is rounded off by a high-quality and extremely robust Miller wire feed motor and a Miller cooling unit, which ensures perfect cooling of the torch even during 24-hour operation.
Welding can sometimes take a little longer, especially with cladding. 24 hours places the highest demands on technology and equipment. We have exactly what you need!
